Hawaii!!

The stars all aligned so we were lucky enough to have a week getaway to Hawaii!  My sweet parents know how hard winters are for me so they rearranged one of their time shares for the winter to Maui and invited us to come!  And Parkers sweet parents arranged for Carmen to come be with the kids!  It was absolutely amazing and the perfect getaway!  We had so much fun spending time on the beach and with my parents and Dieter!  Thanks for letting us join you!

Our first night we stayed in Makena.  Outside our Hotel..
First stop, yummy food at Eskimo Candy.
The Second day we hiked along the beach on lava fields waiting for my parents and Dieter to arrive.
The Cheesburger for breakfast on the coast.
The famous Bannion Tree.

One of our highlights was the Old Lahaina Luau!  Watching them cook our dinner...

Fancy that, they have church in Lahaina too.
Sunday drive to the top of Mt. Haleakala at 10,000 feet.

Another highlight was driving the road to Hana.  The trees, colors, flowers, and waterfalls were breathtaking!
Hiking down into a lava tube.

The black sand beach at walanapala park.
Swimming in the 7 sacred pools in Hana.  It was cold, not nearly as sacred as I had imagined:)  Thanks mom and dad for following us in to get pictures:)

Another highlight:)  Snorkeling!   I had a brief anxiety attack getting started but then Parker took my hand and off we went.  Lots of  amazing fish and coral but not turtles this time.

Waiting for breakfast, how about a game of coconut chess?  Why not!  Dad won:(
Checking out a large blowhole.

Shortly after our first swim in the ocean we became beach bums:)  Neither of us had really swam on a warm beach before. So much fun!
And the breathtaking views!  My dad took this outside our villa.
A double rainbow(although you can't see the 2nd one)  right out our balcony.

TIme to go home!  If I didn't miss my boys so much Parker may have not gotten me back on that plane!  Quite frankly I'm sick of flying back to dark cold Alaska!

As lovely as Hawaii was there's nothing like being back home with these smiles!
I was thrilled to have alone time with my Eddie while everyone else went to star wars when we got back.

My parents sent the boys the cutest Hawaiian outfits so we had a fun little luau with Grandma Corts before she left.
