Sunday afternoon nap!

Church is rough on poor Eddie's schedule.  We usually get faced with the "he's so tired but if he takes a nap now he'll be up all night."  So Parker let him take a little cat nap on the couch with him and oh isn't he precious!  He's a thumb sucker like his mom!
It was about time to wake up so Dad was giving him little tickles:)

Campout at home!

Between scouts and Parkers crazy summer work schedule our family campout keeps getting pushed back so we finally decided to just do an at home one this weekend until all the stars align to go somewhere fun.  I was pretty bummed about it, but it turns out things happen for a reason sometimes.  Eddie ended up having the flu so he was much happier in his own bed and it couldn't have been a funner campout!  It's impossible to describe through words or pictures the pure joy and content I feel when spending time with this awesome crew.  Raising a family is hard but it is all worth it especially when you have sweet family time like this.

Henry "helping" dad put up the tent.
Smores!
Dad telling campfire stories...
Look at Henry's face of excitement as he listens to Dad's campfire story about pirates!
So excited to sleep in the tent together!
I am so glad they have each other!  They laid in there for over two hours reading books, talking, telling stories, etc.  It was so precious for me to sit and read and listen to them enjoying each other.  They ended up deciding to sleep inside but more good memories were made!

Swimming...

Usually swimming lessons are at night during dinner time but this summer started offering a few daytime classes so we decided to give it a try.  Last time Breitling did it when he was three he was a goof off.  Amazing what a few years does.  He now loves it and listens like a champ to his teacher.  They have a pretty fun teacher so Henry is giggling almost the entire time:)

Family Night to the Beach to CELEBRATE....

Well, we were already planning to go out to Point Worzonof for Family Home Evening so the boys could throw rocks in the ocean and run around, but it turned out extra special because that night we had exciting news to celebrate.
Lets just put this out there up front, WE LOVE ALASKA!  We have taken full advantage of all that it has to offer and have truly enjoyed our 6 years here.  Having said that we have felt strongly it isn't where we want to settle and would like to be closer to both of our families.  Parker has applied to transfer to different facilities many times but it has been very tricky due to Anchorage's low staffing.  We put it in the Lords hands and knew that as long as we kept doing our part it would work out in the right timing.  Well I guess it is the right timing because all the stars finally aligned and Parker got a job to transfer to the Salt Lake Center in about two years.  Alaska will always hold a special place in our hearts as it is where we started our marriage together and learned to lean on each other, had our three boys, and of course had many adventures.  I never would have chosen to come here but I definitely wouldn't change the precious time we've had here!   We're excited we have two more years before we leave so that we can do all our favorite things again now that the boys are a little older to remember them.

The boys had fun throwing rocks in the water but they are so adventurous and ended up in the trees hiking around.

Soccer!!!

We got together with a bunch of moms from church and put together a couple soccer teams.  Breitling always brags about what a fast runner he is so this is perfect for him and anything that gets these boys running around outside instead of in my house is great!.  Henry couldn't stop smiling the entire time!

Boating adventures....

On their way fishing at Sand lake with daddy!
Got one good picture and then all chaos ensued...

Henry reeling in his fish!  I love his thinking face.
Breitling reeling in a fish!

And the next week Parker and I got to go together so I took a pic of the man behind all the fun!

Bowling

We bought a new van!  Just in time for the rainy season to begin!!
Rainy day means free bowling day..

Random Fun

Picnic on the rocks down the road.  Eddie sat screaming at the rocks and as soon as I put him up with his brothers he was happy as a clam.  Just the beginning of wanting to do everything his brothers do!

With our truck obsessed Henry it's pretty easy to get distracted on our sunday walks at the construction site...

Beach day!

Just in case the warm weather was a fluke we jumped on our first chance to go play at the sandy lake since it's the closest thing we have to a sandy beach.

Eddie loved playing in the dirt almost as much as eating it :)  He's getting all ready for our Oregon trip!
