Ok, I might go a rambling here, but that's ok cause if you're bored you can skim and it's kindof my mommy journal. May started off with Henry getting the 24 hour stomach flu. He threw up every 30 minutes through the night for 8 hours straight! Poor kid! No fun of course cleaning up throw up all night long, but I'm glad I'm a homemaker so that when my baby is sick I can be the one to love him and pamper him like my mom did for me. So we got through it no biggie. But then 4(yes 4) days later Breitling threw up all over his primary class in church and had it too!!! Awesome visual huh!! Well, it was just a 24 hour thing again and we got through it no biggie. BUT then 2 days later Eddie got it! This was NOT no biggie because of his already serious tummy issues he could not handle it!! He refused to eat for one week straight and screamed almost all day long! In the middle of that I got the 24 hour flu too! There's only one thing worse than taking care of a screaming sick baby all day and that's doing it while you yourself are miserably sick too! After one week he started to eat a little bit like normal and went from screaming to just grumpy for another entire week. While he was so miserable we did everything we could to bring joy to his life and break up his screaming which included lots of walks, bike rides, and baths because they seemed to distract him and helped the rest of us get some fresh air so we didn't go nutty! Other than those things we cleared our schedule and didn't do anything because it was too risky with Eddie. After the week of screaming and when he started to eat again we decided to take a risk and go out to get Henry's Birthday pictures. Eddie did well, BUT on the way home we were T Boned and our van was totaled. It was on the boys side but everyone was ok. What a scary thing with three kids in the car. It's one of those experiences that reminds you how blessed you are to have every moment you do have with your family and to not take them for granted. We've decided to take our time finding a new car so we can find another reliable van for a good price, therefore, the kids and I are biking maniacs!! So that's our rough month, but we've been so blessed one that the kids are ok and that it's been the best weather we've ever seen in May! It's only rained once since we've been carless! Life is crazy, but one thing is for sure I am so grateful It is Parker that I get to do this crazy adventure with! He's been my rock through it all! As soon as he got home from work I'd go hide in my room with the fan on so I could have an hour free from the crying to recharge and be ready to give Eddie all the love he needed again. And he was there for me with his kind patience through the entire accident process. Rough weeks really do force a family to cleave together. Poor Henry just covered his ears most of the week hollering "Eddie!!!!!," but the boys were such troopers. One particular afternoon after Eddie crying all day I was trying to get him in my baby carrier so I could do the dishes before Parker got home, but he just kicked and screamed and I couldn't get him in so I finally plopped on the couch and sobbed along with him in my arms. Without saying a word Breitling came over, put his arm around me and patted me, then Henry came over and started reading a book to Eddie and said after a minute "look, mom, Eddie's happy now!!" We couldn't do it without each other! So here's some pictures to highlight our crazy month.
You'd think our life was perfect looking at this picture right? No one would know those are the only smiles I mustered out of Eddie that whole day! Notice he's wearing Jammies in all these pics!
One of our multiple baths in one day!
On the day mom and Eddie had the flu Parker took the boys to the airplane expo to get them out. Like I said, he's the best!
More park time to get out some more smiles!
Parker got these extra scraps from the construction site to plant strawberries in, but in the meantime the boys had a blast with them. They climbed them, raced cars down them, rolled them down the hill, etc.
And even on the one rainy day we still had to get out of the house with grumpy Eddie so we didn't go stir crazy:)
