Airport Fire Station Tour!

Yes this lucky boy got to go on another tour!  This time it was to the airport fire station!  This was even cooler than a normal station because the fire trucks are even bigger and they even have a Knine on site to search the planes for explosives.

Driving the fire truck!
Using the joy stick to move the device that holds the fire hose.
Next he got to drive the police car!

And then he got to ride in the back of the police car with his best bud Reagan.

Ice Skating!

I love it that this winter Breitling is old enough for me to actually teach him to skate!  We go on the outdoor rinks every winter, but it was more of a me carrying him around.  I have always loved coaching and it is very rewarding, but teaching my own kiddo is even better!  This is a day I have looked forward to for a long time.

More fun...

Poor bunny, Breitling felt the need to chop off the top of his ears because he said he needed a haircut.

Breitling found the party hats in my drawer and said he wanted to get them out for Grandma's birthday.

Potters Marsh

It was a sunny day so we took a walk on the boardwalk at potters marsh. The kids love it in the summer and I underestimated how much they would enjoy it in the winter.  After such a sunny day we came home and Breitling insisted on getting out his summer clothes and wearing his shorts and kept saying he was ready for summer.  He is definitely not the only one!  We agreed he could wear his shorts inside but not outside until at least the snow is melted.  Poor kid doesn't realize that is 2 months away!

Throwing snow and ice off into the river was a hit!

And there was even a moose out on the marsh.

Another sledding adventure!

I know all our sledding pictures get old, but this time we went to a huge hill so it was a different adventure for us as opposed to our usual baby hill:)  Breitling was brave on his cool sled and held on for dear life!

Metal Recycling Tour!

Oh my goodness this is by far the best tour we've been on!  Breitling was in heaven being so close to all the action!
Look at that huge pile of metal junk!
And he even got to see "the claw" destroy a car!

Ready for Spring!!!

It's funny to me that we are already planting our garden when their is still snow on the ground, but if we don't start them early they won't have time to grow before our early winter hits.  I was especially touched when Breitling chose what he wanted to plant he chose tomatoes so Mommy could use them on her salads.  Very sweet that he chose something I like instead of something he likes.

Iditerod Race!

Breitling has been prepped all year for this.  We watched Balto, read his sled dog books, and saw the sled dog kennel in Denali so he was very excited to go see the race and it even lived up to his expectations!
Waving to the dogs and mushers.

And the best part was that one of the mushers threw him one of the dogs old mittens as a keepsake.  He was super excited about, but when he opened it up and found candy in it he was beyond excited!  That made the experience special for him!
Later in the afternoon we went downtown and there was a team hanging out in the parking lot so Breitling got to go say hi to them.
We saw the snow sculptures downtown and he chose to get a picture in front of his favorite one.
