The only way to access the ferry dock from Anchorage is to pay to go through a 2 1/2 mile tunnel that takes you to a city called Whittier. Here is a picture of the tunnel. It is hard to see but the start of the tunnel is the Triangle.
Here we are on our ferry. It is a super fast ferry so it only took about 3 hours to get there, but back when Parker was living here the old fashioned ferry's took about 6 1/2 hours. From the ferry and our whole trip in Cordova we saw alot of cool sea animal life which was cool since all I have ever seen of sea life is in Sea World:). We saw whales, porpoises, sea otters, seals, and even a bear swimming in the ocean! 
We also saw a couple of huge oil tankers on the ferry so here is one of them.
This is Child's glacier in Cordova. They have a nice park where you can drive right across from the glacier and watch it. It was super active the day we were there so it was cool seeing all of the ice break off into the water. It was sooo cold so here I am in the middle of summer with my huge winter coat on:)
And of coarse we did alot of fishing while there. This is me in my new wader outfit. I guess that makes it official that Parker is making a fisherman out of me.
We didn't have much luck with fishing so finally our last day we hiked into a river for one last chance at getting some salmon. It was the most beautiful hike through a rainforest. Here is a picture of Parker on the hike. Pictures just don't do it justice, but believe me Alaska is just naturally gorgeous!
The hike was worth it because there was alot alot of Red Salmon jumping in the river once we got there and we finally caught our Alaskan Salmon! 
I even ate our salmon! Parker cooked it up real good today and I actually liked it:)
Cordova is just so gorgeous as I mentioned and here is a picture of one of the pretty things. They have a flower called fireweed everywhere and it is really something. They also have a unique berry everywhere that I had never heard of called salmon berries. They were very yummy! They look like raspberries but taste nothing like them. 
On our last night we went out to the sand dunes and did all of the cool fireworks that are illegal everywhere else. This is me holding my 3 foot long sparkler. We got a little bit of darkness for the fireworks because Cordova gets a bit darker than anchorage and because it was a cloudy day and because we waited till midnight to do them.
